ICYMI — Congressman Russell Fry (SC-07) Calls for the Impeachment of DHS Secretary Mayorkas Over his Failure to Secure the Southern Border
Washington, D.C. — Last week, Congressman Russell Fry officially called for the impeachment of the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas, over his failure to secure the U.S. southern border. This comes after Secretary Mayorkas testified before the House Judiciary Committee.
“While Secretary Mayorkas testified before the House Judiciary Committee, I listened to him dodge questions from my Republican colleagues, deflect blame, and fail to acknowledge the border crisis,” said Congressman Russell Fry.
“Under his leadership, the Department of Homeland Security has terminated construction of the border wall, terminated the Remain in Mexico program, abused parole authority and released illegal aliens into the U.S. en masse, and restricted U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s ability to arrest, detain, and remove aliens who violated U.S. law.”
“Secretary Mayorkas takes credit for the alleged ‘success’ of his department but blames other people for his own failures. Under his watch, there have been 5.6 million illegal alien encounters, 1.5 million known gotaways, 2.1 million illegals released into our country, and 250 terrorist encounters at our southern border.”
“The malfeasance in defending our national security and securing our southern border is unmistakable. He must be impeached.”
