Protecting Our National Security

Protecting our national security and keeping Americans safe should always be our government’s top priority. One of my favorite presidents, Teddy Roosevelt, said it best — we must speak softly and carry a big stick.

We need a leader in the White House who projects strength on the world stage.

We need leadership in our military that prioritizes bolstering our military, not DEI initiatives.

America is at a crossroads, and we’re facing threats on multiple fronts — from a hostile China, to the worst border crisis in our nation’s history, to increased unrest in the Middle East — we must be armed and ready to face any threat.

Below are a few highlights of legislation I have supported to help protect our national security.

H.R. 79 — WHO Withdrawal Act — This legislation would direct the President to withdraw the United States from the World Health Organization.

H.R. 3774 — Stop Harboring Iranian Petroleum (SHIP) Act — This legislation would impose sanctions on foreign ports and refineries that process petroleum exported from Iran in violation of U.S. sanctions. This legislation passed the U.S. House in 2023.

H.R. 6114 — Maximum Pressure Act — This legislation would codify the Trump administration’s successful maximum pressure campaign on Iran into law. Sanctions included in this legislation would strip Iran’s ability to fund terrorism throughout the region, sanction the Supreme Leader of Iran, and force the President to enforce sanctions on Iran’s oil sales.
